About the area
The Greater Ballarat system sources water from the White Swan, Lal Lal, Cosgrave and Newlyn reservoirs. The Greater Ballarat system also sources water from Ballarat West groundwater bores, and the Goldfields Superpipe. The Greater Ballarat system services the townships of Alfredton, Ballan, Ballarat, Black Hill, Bungaree, Buninyong, Corindhap, Creswick, Golden Point, Gordon, Linton, Mt Clair, Scarsdale, Smythesdale, Snake Valley, Skipton and Wallace.
Bendigo has a water treatment plant producing potable water for urban supply to this system.
This system is supplied by Central Highlands Water.
