About the area
The Greater Ballarat system sources water from the White Swan, Lal Lal, Cosgrave and Newlyn reservoirs, as well as Ballarat West groundwater bores and the Goldfields Superpipe. The Greater Ballarat system services the townships of Ballan, Ballarat and District, Buninyong, Bungal, Bungaree, Cardigan Village, Carngham, Corindhap, Creswick, Dereel, Enfield, Fiskville, Glenmore, Gordon, Haddon, Lal Lal, Linton, Mount Egerton, Navigators, Napoleons, Newtown, Pittong, Rokewood, Rowsley, Scarsdale, Snake Valley, Smythes Creek, Smythesdale, Skipton, Wallace, Woodlands and Yendon.
Ballarat has two water treatment plants producing potable water for urban supply to this system.
This system is supplied by Central Highlands Water.
