About the area

The Castlemaine system sources water from McKay Reservoir via the Coliban Main Channel. The Castlemaine system services the townships of Castlemaine, Maldon, Campbells Creek, Chewton, Newstead, Elphinstone, Taradale and Harcourt.

Castlemaine has a water treatment plant producing potable water for urban use.

This system is supplied by Coliban Water.
