About the area

The Coliban Main Channel is a 'common distribution system', meaning it services multiple other distribution systems. The Coliban Main Channel conveys water from the Coliban storages (Upper Coliban, Lauriston and Malmsbury reservoirs) to supply rural subsystems and the Coliban North and Coliban South urban water supply systems.

Bendigo and Castlemaine have water treatment plants producing potable water for urban use.

This system is supplied by Coliban Water.
