2023-24 overview
Urban deliveries
37,228 ML of urban residential and non-residential deliveries were made in 2023-24, more than the previous year (33,254 ML in 2022-23).
Wastewater recycled at treatment plants
13% of wastewater was recycled (4,200 ML of 31,814 ML), similar to 11% in 2022-23.

Barwon Water operates 4 urban water supply systems. Water is sourced from the Barwon, Moorabool and Otway Coast basins.

Recycled water
Water recycled at wastewater treatment plants can be used to supplement water available in river basins. Table 2 lists the wastewater treatment plants managed by Barwon Water. Water discharged to the environment from treatment plants is included as an inflow to the water balance for each of the river basins.
