About the area
- Goulburn Valley Water provides urban water and wastewater services to over 135,000 people. This encompasses over 62,000 customers in 54 towns, from the outskirts of Melbourne in the south to the Murray River in the north.
- Bulk water supply is principally from the Goulburn, Broken, Murray, Steavenson, Rubicon and Delatite rivers, and from some smaller local streams (such as Sunday Creek and Seven Creeks).

2021-22 overview
Urban deliveries
23,912 ML of urban residential and non-residential deliveries were made in 2021-22, similar to the previous year (24,142 ML in 2020-21).
Wastewater recycled at treatment plants
66% of wastewater was recycled (6,545 ML of 9,965 ML).

Recycled water
Water recycled at wastewater treatment plants can be used to supplement water available in river basins. Table 2 below lists the wastewater treatment plants managed by Goulburn Valley Water. Water discharged to the environment from treatment plants is included as an inflow to the water balance for each of the river basins.
